Sienna Rose Performs at National Gala
Sienna Rose along with several other scholarship winners had the privilege of performing for The National Fiddler Hall of Fame Gala and Induction Concert. The event was held in the Mabee Center, Tulsa, on September 16th and is an award show and fundraiser for the scholarship fund.
To win the scholarship, Sienna had to compose a letter telling how she is progressing and her plans for the funds should she win. This year she used the scholarship to attend Jana Jae’s Fiddle Camp in Grove, Oklahoma. Sienna has also received scholarships from the Western Swing Music Society of the Southwest to attend Elmore Fiddle Camp in Glenn Rose, Texas; and from the Oklahoma State Fiddlers and from the Oklahoma International Bluegrass to attend a B.A.M. Camp in Turkey Texas. Scholarship are a major financial aid in attending camps and are greatly appreciated.
This year’s Tulsa award show started with a group playing of a song medley and then Sienna performed a number with Austin and Mackynsie McKedy. A highlight of the evening was getting to hang out backstage with all the musicians including Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, presenters of two of the awards.
Sienna Rose Yetter is a freshman at Allen High School. She is the daughter of Jason and Becky Yetter.
