The August 2021 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from June business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from June 16 th to 30 th and estimated sales from July 1 st to the 15 th .

The disbursement of $183,420,800 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $15,296,631 from the $168,124,169 distributed to the cities and towns in August last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $30,430,832.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $29,985,550 sales tax disbursement and a $5,479,222 use tax disbursement.

On the local level, Allen took a hit on Sales Tax Receipts but more than made up for it in Use Tax monies. In August 2020 the town received $17,537.25 from Sales Tax revenue; that number dropped by $1,324.34 this year, going to $16,212.91 in 2021. But during the same reporting time, Use Tax increased by $1,417.48, up this year to $5,528.17 from $4,110.68 last year.

Ada posted gains in both categories. Their Sales Tax receipts for 2021 totaled $1,460,902.45, up from $1,439,037.36; Use Tax increased to $180,760.88 up from $131,558.85.

Atwood had a major increase in Sales Tax, $2,970.52 up from $372.13. That community does not collect Use Tax, nor do Francis or Gerty. In Sales Tax numbers Francis dropped to $1,019.08 from $1,316.80, and Gerty went to $132.45 from $159.39.

Calvin increased their Sales Tax revenue to $13,242.09 from $8,987.88, and their Use Tax went to $1,896.14 from $1,800.29. Holdenville also reported gains in both divisions. Their Sales Tax receipts totaled $246,584.97 up from $237,255.14, and Use Tax increased to $35,529.22 from $29,253.89.

County coffers also increased in both categories. The August 2021 Sales Tax in Hughes County went to $103,832.42 up from $95,603.35; Use Tax increased to $22,572.56 from $15,520.74. Pontotoc County Sales Tax went to $398,216.19 from $386,332.98; Use Tax more than doubled, going from $52,498.32 to $109,931.96.
