On Sunday, March 3rd, the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to assist with an officer involved shooting in Calvin, Oklahoma.

Earlier that evening, Hughes County deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop south of Atwood. The driver failed to cooperate and led deputies on a pursuit.

The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Clovis Lee Reeves Jr., came to a stop in a rural area near 377 Road and 144 Road in Calvin. Reeves exited his vehicle armed with a firearm.

Deputies pursued him on foot for a short distance before the shooting occurred.

Reeves was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he is currently in stable condition. The deputies on scene were not injured.

It was not clear how many deputies fired their weapons or if the suspect fired shots at law enforcement.
