PSO Franchise Election passes

The Tuesday, February 14th, election held for residents of Allen to decide to retain or reject renewal of the franchise with PSO for electric service to the town garnered only a small voter turnout. Of those making the effort to vote, the renewal carried with 97.5% of the votes.

Only 40 votes were cast town-wide with 26 voters on the Pontotoc County side of town saying yes, one voting no; Hughes County had 13 registered voters go to the poll with everyone casting ballots for the renewal. “We are very appreicative the residents of Allen voted to renew the PSO Franchise. Thank you for allowiong us to contiue serving in Allen as we have done for more than seventy-five years.
