Out & About
Mrs. Norma (Shaw) Nichols and husband, Kenneth, of Chickasha were at the Black Rock Cemetery recently setting a triple headstone for her mother Gladys Howerton, dad William (Bill) Shaw, and sister Bernice Shaw.
While out & about they also visited with cousins Martha Files and Betty Finney whom they hadn’t seen in many years.
—O&A—Mr. and Mrs. Robert Files visited recently in Ada at the Ballard Nursing Home with their pastor, Sister Louise Marre.
—O&A—Attending the “Sisters Hand in Hand” banquet Monday night at the Cowboy Cross Cut Church, north of Ada, were Glendene Griffin, Magdaline Griffin and Betty Finney, all of Allen. Attending from Atwood were Norma Wilkerson, Charlene Echols and Lamesa Byrd; and from Gerty was Nita Brashers.
Some were escorted from the parking area to the church building in a white, horse drawn carriage while others were escorted in 4-wheelers. There was a large crowd with everyone having a great time.
Betty enjoyed visiting briefly with Nina McCormick, Dianne (Smith) Battles, and Edwina (Muse) Braxton, all former Allen residents.
