Oh Say, Can you see

Posted in:

We all have seen it. Mobs of young people, some who are “actual” college and university students — wearing those “Yassar Arafat” head scarves, burning the flag of the United States and shouting “Death to Israel.” Where has all this Jewish race hatred come from? Who is Hama? Why do they all hate Jews and Israel?

I remember walking into a store in Stonewall in 1944, right after Franklin D. Roosevelt had died and I saw this guy ranting and raving about how glad he was that the president was dead. I heard him allege how that the “Jew Loving” FDR had started World War II just so the “Jews” could make more money. I was puzzled and more than a little bit angry at the guy. I loved old FDR and after four years of war, I was full of patriotism. Racial hatred then, as now, has no logic.

I knew that the Nazi’s hated Jews so badly they had spent all their national wealth, had started a war and lost everything from this hate. We were beginning to see all the “bone” newsreels exposing how the Nazi’s had systematically murdered eight- or ninemillion Jews. Hitler had decided to rid the world for what he saw as this curse to mankind. Jews. So much for Hitler and his ilk. The only Jew I knew in Stonewall was Mr. Wise and his kid Albert. Mr. Wise ran a grocery store and he was well liked in Stonewall.

Of course, racism has always been alive and well here in the USA. And we have worked our way through (at least somewhat) some of these racial problems but I sure didn’t foresee this newfound resurgence of racial hatred of Jews. What has surprised me is how the American “politic” has purportedly and collectively switched sides against the only democratically elected government in the middle east. I speak of course of Israel, a nation that suffered a surprise terrorist attack and invasion by a “hoard” of Palestinians last October using a place called Gaza as their springboard. They call themselves Hama.

Palestinians have not endeared themselves to Americans. Not so many years ago Palestinian Terrorists (Taliban) attacked the United States by hijacking several jet airliners and flying two into the Trade Towers in New York City, another smashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Passengers on another flight heroically foiled an effort to destroy the Whitehouse when passengers overcome the terrorist. The plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania killing them all.

Somehow events have become all screwed up in some of our “liberal” minded student minds. These later events were seized upon by Hamma groups who soon had the politically hapless college students eating out of their hands. These “brainless” idiots now believe that the Israelites have without any good reason invaded and destroyed the little cities contained in the Gaza Strip. Gaza is basically a Palestinian refugee city that has been taken over by the Hamas, who like most terrorist only use this area as another political weapon against Israel.

The Hamas operate the Gazan government now (such as it exists) but in truth the people who live there have not been permitted to vote on a parliament or president since 2008. Hama is just another Terrorist group. Their chief sponsor and money funder is Iran. To have seen the Hama flag draped over the statue of our great American hero, General George Washington, as I saw on TV last week in Washington, DC, was obscene. This represents an insult to all Americans. I had hoped that by this time our President and other political leaders would stand up, honor their oaths and put an immediate end to this string of unpatriotic and seditious acts.

Be sure and go to your church on Sunday. And yes, I still enjoy hearing from my readers.
