Why Not Mogadishu?

Posted in:

Since most Americans seem to be getting a lot of political advice from a vast minority of other Americans is it not fair to ask, Why? Why is it that Rep. Ihsan Omar-D from Minnesota is so listened to in Congress when she makes her many demands on her adopted homeland for such radical changes? Why would someone from Mogadishu, probably the most messed up place in the world in governance presume that the USA is so messed up, so racist, so materialistically unfair that in order to repair it, it must be first destroyed. “It’s just too far gone,” she implies.

This feeds into the false rhetoric of the New Left who believe the US government must not only change but must be pulled down—like the statue of George Washington or perhaps the Washington Monument. Liberals say we need a five-year respite from having police in our streets so “we” can decide whether and how to run things” here in which was until just a few weeks ago, the good old USA. Meanwhile, they reason, let us go dynamite Mount Rushmore.

These people live in our country which almost without disagreement from any sane observer is the result of the most outstanding revolution in the history of western civilization. A place where equality of an individual citizen’s rights are guaranteed by the hard-fought-for law of the land. The same place for equality of opportunity is guaranteed but outcomes are still up to that same individual. A place where your civil rights are a court guaranteed right and enforced by these same police you want removed. We all saw what happened in Seattle when the Progressive Mayor delivered the heart of the city to a lawless mob which sealed itself off from what soon appeared to be the civilized part of the town. The dreamyleft wing mayor said it would afford the city a time of free conversation and love. Well. That worked out fine, didn’t it?

Instead of love, the city’s taxpayers are now stuck with millions of dollars of damages. Store owners have been devasted and bankrupted, robbed and terrorized by armed terrorists roaming the streets. Murder and lawlessness on public parade. Thugs and armed mobs ruled the moment. In a way, it may have been good for America to see this unlawful experiment in love and equality in action. So, America. If you see this, you need to also perceive it.

Meanwhile, the summer burns on. We are faced not only with the sight of Ihsan Omar taking a leading role in our Democrat Party and showing us her roadmap to glory. We are also confronted with a few other problems. There is this Pandemic. Twenty named hurricanes are said to be bearing down on us. A national election looms in November ahead with serious implications on our American way of life. Some say police violence in America must be dealt with by abolishing these same police. It is these Anarchists that trouble Americans more than all the rest. Then problems of when to start school again, the pandemic, the hurricanes, the elections, and other problems facing our beloved country will be faced and we (the grownups) will handle it.

In times like these I try to remember that I have heard things in the past, such as how these times are the most perilous times, we have ever lived in. Then I remember that we always get through them and I suppose that is why this is without doubt the most stable democracy ever known. I hope we can keep it like that. I like hearing from my readers and please note my correct address. Oh, and be sure and go to church Sunday.
