We just observed Memorial Day — a time we honor all veterans who served our nation. In many cases these men and women paid with their lives to preserve something we Americans have always held dear. Freedom. Now we know that in some of our liberal WOKE school systems the causes and reasons these wars were fought are brought into question. The very fact that an evil man rose to power in the 1930s and captured a democracy called Germany and directed that country’s political and military power to a goal to fulfill his own sick dream of fascism has become distorted.

Hitler’s evil history is misremembered by many who wish to persevere in their racist views against folk who don’t look like themselves. He wanted to create a super-race of white Germans. In a few short years Adolph Hitler’s dream had partially succeeded. He killed about 15 million Jews in just a few short years. Just because he hated Jews. His extended plans for a “conquered” Europe and especially America included more of the same. Hitler made no secret of how he would exterminate the Jews and Blacks in America. It is a scary and almost unbelievable history.

Believability is important here. Some have never believed this in its entirety, in spite of irrefutable proof. This year I see a new danger to our way of life. Our freedom. A few liberal leaning educators, a group that always seem to hate American Capitalism now teach openly that the USA was Truth and Consequences

just as bad as Hitler and go a step further, they say American started this war against Hitler’s Germany. This is, to say the least, a disgusting lie. We need to realize this is taught to some school kids so these liberals can further their own socialist and communist agendas through the vote.

We need to be serious about these threats to our political thinking and the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. We must not let them exacerbate our race problems. They don’t want to resolve them; they want to use them to thwart our democracy. Don’t think our way of life is made out of cement. This area right here where we live was in the center of a socialist revolution back in 1915. Yes, right out here on the S. Canadian River. Hundreds of men were ready to overthrow the government of the United States. The plan was to gather up a mob of thousands and march on Washington to bring down the bankers and capitalists. It is remembered in the history books as the “Green Corn Revolution.”

The socialist party around Allen and SE Oklahoma had grown faster than the Oklahoma weeds. A guy named John Spears raised the red communist flag over the Canadian River just on the edge of Allen. The march on Washington was planned right here for the next few days. Soon the mob had burned the big railroad bridge near Francis while the phone lines to Ada and some other points were cut. The mob’s leaders decided to march on Konawa and burn it to the ground. Pontotoc County sheriff Bob Duncan raised a posse of 25 deputies came on the scene and arrested 10 men. The Ada Evening News followed the violence reporting on several shootouts and many brutal raids in this area.

The Governor arranged for a trainload of 60 officers to be rushed to Konawa and probably saved that town from burning. They had soon arrested 450 locals and hauled them by rail to the prison in McAlester where they were jailed. No talks of bail. It was several months before the state tired of feeding them and turned them out. The March on Washington was over. The Green Corn Revolution fizzled. Dead in the water, so to speak. Their leader, secretary W. T Cargill had been shot dead over at Konawa. One farmer from Spaulding and one just south of Holdenville was also shot dead. Talk of the revolution was over and is now pretty much forgotten here in the Allen Area. And I guess that’s OK. But let’s not forget the greatness of our country and the men and women who defended it in times of war. Remember it’s pretty easy to stir up trouble. Hard to stop it.

Be sure and go to church this Sunday.
