A Note from the Town of Allen

Posted in:

Town of Allen officials have been keeping in constant contact with county and state officials so that we may remain up to date on all vital information.

Town-wise we have been very proud of our citizens by acting in an orderly manner in the stores and giving everyone a chance at grocery and personal items.

We would like to remind everyone that even though toilet paper may not be plentiful do not to flush the baby wipes and other items down our sewer system. This only creates problems for the homeowners as well as the city.

Allen is so fortunate to have resources within a short distance that we can function with out much problem.

We take the safety of our first responders seriously so they have been instructed in actions they need to take to remain safe but rest assured if they are needed they will provide services.

We have been asked recently to provide letters to people to allow them to travel to their place of business. Town officials have checked with the county and at this time nothing like that is even planned, we are trusting people to take care of their home and business and remain safe. Again we have checked with the county and they have no plans at this time to stop people looking for some kind of residential or business documents. However, law enforcement will be even more vigilant to keep our citizens and travel safe. So watch your speed and drive in a safe manner.

We are so pleased that the school is providing food for our youth and if you need any information about that check out the Allen School facebook page which is updated regularly with important information.

With the weather improving we encourage everyone to get out and exercise but remember the rules of keeping a safe distance from other people and not to beat a dead horse, hand washing and good hygiene is so important now more than ever.

The Allen school will open the storm cellar in times of significant weather warnings, but again we ask that a safe space be observed between people in there if at all possible.

All city services are being performed and we anticipate no interruptions in any water / sewer or trash services. The Library is currently closed and we will notify everyone when that will be opened back up. We are asking everyone to practice social distancing but If anyone needs help just message the Town of Allen Face book page or call city hall 580-857-2461 and we will do everything in our power to help.

Let’s all check on our neighbors and remain safe, and any updates will be noted here plus the school has offered to let us use their messaging service if we need to get info out quickly. Continue to lift our

Continue to lift our town, county, state, nation an neighbors in prayer as we face this historic event.
