Mustang field will host its last game of the season Friday night against Mounds. Pre-game festivities will honor the Senior football, cheer and band members at 6:15 before the 7 o’clock kickoff.

Until the half, the Mustangs were giving Hartshorne all they could handle. Allen headed to the locker room at half tied at 13. But 13 is all the Mustangs could muster and fell the Miners 37-13.

The Mustangs ran46 plays fro 259 yards of offense compared to 230 yards for Hartshorne. The Mustangs were intercepted 4 times and flagged 11 times for 80 yards compared to the Minors 3 penalties for 25 yards.

In the first quarter Hartshorne struck first and was quickly answer on a Quinton Walker 5 yard run for a touchdown. Quinn Corum kicked the extra point.

Then in the second quarter the Mustangs took the lead on a 1-yard dive from Corum. The extra point was no good and that ended the scoring for Allen in the contest.

“We knew going in that Hartshorne was a good team, but we did a lot of good things in the game and played hard”, said Coach McCreary. “We have to clean up our penalties and mistakes and bounce back this week against Mounds and try to secure a third-place finish in our Districts.” Stroud leads the district with a 5-0 district record, Hartshorne 4-1, Allen and Liberty 3-2 and Mounds 2-3.

Quarterback Corum completed 2 passes in 11 attempts. Tagus Howard had a 34 catch and Walker caught a 20 yard pass. Howard had 107 yards on the ground in 22 carries. Corum 3 carries 50 yards,1 TD; Walker 4 carries for 32 yards and 1 TD and Kayd Bell had 6 carries for 16 yards.
