The Allen Nutrition Site has added a “Senior of Week” drawing to their activities. Each week a participant’s name will be drawn and the lucky winner will receive a small prize.

The first winner, drawn Wednesday, is Betty Speir. Mrs. Speir has lived in Allen since July 1, 1974 when she and her husband purchased the Allen OTASCO store and moved here from Hurst, Texas. They ran the local business for 31 years before retiring.

Betty said she enjoys the Allen Nutrition Site food and activities. She has been a regular participant since April of 2005.

The Allen Nutrition Site is located at 206 Highway 1E and serves lunch weekdays from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Anyone 60 year of age or over is invited to join them. The meal is served free of charge but a $2 donation is suggested and appreciated. Site Manager Dava Beck asks that you call the day prior or before 9:00 a.m. that day to make reservations so they will know how many meals to prepare. The Site phone number is (580) 857-2803.
