Miranda Raney, a Choctaw native student at Oklahoma State University and former Allen resident, knew that she wanted to help others.

A merchandising major student with emphasis on fashion merchandising, decided in December 2018 that she wanted to make a difference. With an idea and determination, Raney started the All Tied Together blanket drive. Putting her idea out on social media and talking to students, she hoped to get five or six people to respond and be able to make at least fi ve blankets for those in need.

When the day arrived to put action to her idea 40 or 50 people showed up and over 80 tied blankets were made.

Now, a year later, Raney and over 50 volunteers, have hand-tied 183 blankets that have been donated to local and metro area homeless shelters.
