We would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy Sunday breakfast with us at 9:00 am and stay for Sunday Church at 10:00 am. Matthew 22:37-40 tells us to, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it “Love your neighbor as yourself.” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a describes love as, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, if does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, Love never fails.” This week we will look at what “love is patient” means. Patient/longsuffering – It can endure evil, injury, and provocation, without being filled with resentment, indignation, or revenge. It makes the mind fi rm, gives it power over the angry passions, and furnishes it with a persevering patience, that shall rather wait and wish for the reformation of a brother than fly out in resentment of his conduct. It will put up with many slights and neglects from the person it loves and wait long to see the kindly effects of such patience on him.
