Low Water Pressure in Allen
Citizens of Allen have noticed periods of low water pressure and even sometime of no water during the week.
The problem started when a leak was detected at the standpipe water tower on Gilmore street heading out of Allen. To locate the leak the tower had to be drained and a company will come in and determine if the leak is in the tower or in the underneath concrete apron. Because that tower isn’t being filled it is causing problem at the wells. The system was designed to fill both water towers and having one offline had caused a problem with the static pressure versus the pumping pressure. City employees are standing by at the wells to manually switch the pumps to keep water flowing. Please be patient as they get the situation corrected.
