The long-awaited basketball season tipped off Monday with a trip to Calvin.

The Allen ladies were more than Calvin could handle and breezed to an 89-5 win. All seven of the Ladies Mustangs scored: Cherish Woodward 21, Kaylee Davis 21, Addison Prentice 19, Kryslyn Srephens 11, Kayla Nickell 9, Stoney Culley 6, and Ava Laden 2 The Allen men also had a 63-point win 9734. Brayden Tatum 19, Sedrick Lindsey 16, Cayser Nickell 12, Gus Matthews 12, Keithon Howard 11, Kamden Adams 7, Easton Ledo , Jake Matthews 4, Gauge Lockhart 3, Grady Holder 2, Grady Holder 2, Bodie Garrett 2 and Cooper Newberry 2 The next night saw the teams travel to Coalgate, again the Allen teams brought home 2 wins.

The Allen girls defeated Coalgate 95-24: Woodward, 27, Prentice 20, Nickell 17, Davis 23, Culley 11, Laden 4 and Stephens 4 The boys held Coalgate scoreless in the first quarter and allowed 10 in the first half, while Allen scored 35. Allen went on to win 61-27: Tatum 19, Ledo 13, G. Matthews 12, Howard 5, Lindsey 8, Holder 2, Nickell 2, J. Matthews 1, and Lockhart 1.

The group heads to Asher on Monday and then on to the Conference Tournament. This year the host is Stonewall. The Allen teams are both the number 2 seed. The Allen girls play Tupelo Tuesday at 4:30 and the Allen boys play Roff Tuesday at 5:50. Wins on Tuesday will put them in the bracket to play Friday afternoon. The finals of the tournament is slated for Saturday night.
