The Senior Citizen of the Week chosen last week was Joyce McDonald Anderson.

Raised in Allen, Joy graduated from AHS in 1952. She and her twin sister, June, moved to Oklahoma City and attended Draughon’s School of Business. From OKC, Joy moved to Dallas where she worked as a bookkeeper for a construction company before retiring and coming back home to Allen.

She returned to Allen because she loves her hometown. She loves the people, the school, all the Mustang sports, and her many friends.

Joy has one son, Tommy Craig, of Texas, three granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, one sister, her twin June Albright, and a brother, James McDonald.

The Allen Nutrition is currently a “pick up only site” due to the increase in Covid numbers.

Anyone 60 year of age or over is invited to partake of the meals which are served free of charge but a $2 donation is suggested and appreciated. Site Manager Dava Beck asks that you call the day prior or before 9:00 a.m. that day to make reservations so they will know how many meals to prepare. The Site phone number is (580) 857-2803.
