Elementary & Middle School Students Honored

Allen Elementary and Middle School students began an exciting new adventure in learning for the month of September. The students learned all about self-control.

Self-control is the ability to manage your actions, feelings and emotions. Teachers, staff and students all spent the month learning, practicing and reading about self-control in an effort to become more aware of how self-control can impact not only their studies, but their social and home lives. Practicing self-control can help students become more aware of their actions and then allow them to find a way to control themselves in a productive and respectful manor.

Throughout the month teachers taught and reinforced the lesson of self-control and observed as the students took those lessons and began implementing this new skill in their everyday actions.

On October 1st there was an assembly for both the Elementary and Middle School students ending the lesson on self-control. The staff reinforced the lesson on self-control and acknowledged that all student have been diligently practicing the act of self-control. Each teacher recognized students who exemplified self-control in the classroom.

Those students were:

Pre-K: Ethan Hiatt, Adelyn Clark

Kindergarten: Sadie Roach, Isaiah Frazier, Leticia Mitchell, Cambree Wainscott

1 st Grade: Bryar Blessing, Paisley Lewis, Eddie Gonzalez and Lauren Baber

2nd Grade: Jessie Mann, Mario Gonzalez, Paxton Roach, Ricklyn Jasna

3rd Grade: Kierra Frederick, Genna Campbell, Tresyn Walker, Caityn Williams

4th Grade: Sonny Harjo, Brailee Davis

5th Grade: Parker Gates, Breanna Davis

6th Grade: Kaden Ashby, Stoney Cully

In closing out the assembly students were introduced to the word for the month of October: Kindness. Kindness is showing concern about the well-being and feelings of others. The students watched a video over kindness and will be learning many ways of showing kindness in different situations.

The teachers and staff are looking forward to an exciting and kind month!
