By Randy Mitchell The Allen Elementary School choir performed for the Allen Board of Education Monday, singing Christmas music.

Parents of the children were also in attendance. The choir was led by Elementary Principal Amy Mayhue, who said the children also performed at the “Jolly Good Time” festivities December 9th at Juliana Park in Ada.

The choir will be singing again Friday at the Christmas Programs in the auditorium, Mayhue said.

Administrative Reports

During administrative reports, Superintendent Jeff Hiatt mentioned that this week is the last prior to Christmas break.

Hiatt spoke about Christmas program.

Mr. (Devan) Bettencourt had 5th through 12th graders playing different songs that they’ve been working on,” Hiatt said. “The auditorium was packed for that; we had a big turnout.”

Junior high and high school gifted and talented students recently went on a field trip to the Sam Noble Museum in Norman.

“They have another one scheduled for after Christmas, and then the elementary has some stuff scheduled,” Hiatt said. “I’ll update you more when I know more about the elementary part.”

Hiatt spoke about FFA students participating in the Tishomingo show this past weekend.

Hiatt said Camdyn Cundiff won Grand Goats, while Alleigh Horton won Goat Showmanship.

Hiatt mentioned and congratulated the junior high e-sports team, which went to state and placed third. He said team members are Genna Campbell, Gavin Wilson, Garrett Delaney and JR Wofford.

The board agreed it was quite an accomplishment, especially since this was the first year. The team is coached by Mr. Bettencourt.

Hiatt spoke about the girls’ basketball team winning the Pontotoc County Conference Saturday night.

“They’re 6-0, ranked 10th,” Hiatt said. “The rankings came out today. The boys were runner-up in the tournament. They’re 5-1 and ranked 10th as well. They dropped from 7th
