As popular as always, Santa Claus drew a big crowd this past Saturday when he arrived in Allen. Assisted by the Allen Fire Department, Santa met and greeted over 70 children along with their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and spectators.

Children were given sacks of candy and a gift from the ol’ man, and pictures were taken.

Following the action on West Broadway, the crowd moved east to the Allen Food Center for local Chamber of Commerce’s Shop at Home drawing. Several tickets were drawn and numbers read before the first ticket holder present was found. Congratulations to the six $100 winners: Deana Johnson, Pam Price, Heather McCarn, Wendell Gaines, Cindy Davis and Destiny Johnson. Taking home the LP tank donated by Arles Wells’ U-Haul Rental & Interstate Battery dealership was Charles Speir. Names were then drawn

Names were then drawn for the items being given away by the Allen Food Center.

Congratulations to Rosie Postoak, Phoebe Williams, Rebecca Cobb and Kay Prentice each won a bicycle; Jessica Melton and Debbie Hodo were the luck winners of the grills.
