First half

The Wildcats scored first about five minutes into the game after the defense forced Allen to punt.

Coalgate got two yards on a rush, then, on a second-down pitch play, they ran the ball 52 yards all the way to the house for a touchdown. A successful PAT kick made the score 7-0, Coalgate.

However, Allen then scored a touchdown on a 68-yard rush by Quinton Walker, one of the two big plays for the Mustangs early in the game. A successful PAT kick knotted the score at 7. Quinn Corum is good.

The Mustangs struck early in the second quarter when the Wildcats punted the ball, and Walker juked his way through the Coalgate coverage and ran 91 yards for a touchdown. Quinn Corum is no good.)

The Wildcats’ ensuing possession ended with an interception when the ball bounced out of a receiver’s hands and right into the hands of an Allen Mustangs defender Easton Ledo.

Second half

Coalgate received the ball to begin the second half, but the drive resulted in a turnover on downs in Mustang territory.

Allen scored again on its next drive, a Quinn Corum pass complete to Easton Ledo for 43 yards. touchdown! (Point after kick by #11 Quinn Corum is good.)

Fourth quarter The Wildcats gained 14 yards on a pass from Gold to Cometti, then gained 11 yards on a screen pass to Tison Franklin.

Coalgate took another handoff and ran through the middle for a touchdown.

The following twopoint conversion was unsuccessful, however, making the score 27-21, Allen, with 4:20 left in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats performed an onsides kick, but “illegal touching” was called, so Allen took over at about the 50yard line. A high snap resulted in the Mustangs losing seven yards, and Allen failed to get a first down and were forced to punt. The ball went out of bounds at the Coalgate 25-yard line.

Coalgate then tied the score from the 10, they launched another deep pass down the middle this time to Cometti who caught the ball at about the four-yard line and ran it in to tie the game at 27.

The PAT kick was blocked, however.

Neither team scored again in regulation, so the game went into overtime. Overtime Coalgate had the first possession at the 10yard line.

They took a handoff and ran to the three-yard line, then, he lost a yard on another handoff.

However, Gold rolled to the left on third and goal and completed a pass to Tison Franklin for the touchdown. The PAT kick, however, went just to the right of the goalpost, keeping the score at 33-27, Coalgate.
