Congratulations to Donny Johnson. Donny was selected as a Citizen of the Week at the Allen Nutrition Site.

The youngest of 10 children, Donny was raised in Tupelo. After graduation he attended OBU in Shawnee and finished his education degrees at East Central University, Ada. He taught four years in New Mexico then returned to Oklahoma, teaching five years in Stonewall before moving to Allen. Here he served as Junior High/ Middle School Principal and taught “whatever was necessary.”

On August 13, 1963, he married the love of his life, Judy Carleton; she left for heaven on February 14, 2019. Donny has two children, four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Although he enjoys the meals, Donny’s favorite part of going to the Allen Nutrition Site is the fellowship he has there with his friends.

The Allen Nutrition Site is located at 206 Highway 1E and serves lunch weekdays from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Anyone 60 year of age or over is invited to join them. The meal is served free of charge but a $2 donation is suggested and appreciated. Site Manager Dava Beck asks that you call the day prior or before 9:00 a.m. that day to make reservations so they will know how many meals to prepare. The Site phone number is (580) 857-2803.
