~~ the Real Dill ~~~
only picked up steam. Zippy dill pickle flavor now infuses popcorn, ice pops, even sour beer. Trader Joe’s sells pickle seasoning. Fried pickle dip graces the deli case. Pickle pizza, with white garlic sauce, mozzarella cheese and sliced dill pickles posing as peperoni, has found cult status at pizza joints across the country.
Millions of TikTok users now hail the “chickle,” a juicy pickle shrouded in pan-fried provolone, as the ultimate salty-sour snack. Millions more have completed the Hot Pickle Challenge, devouring super spicy packaged pickles and posting their reactions.
While we await the pickle’s next fun fling, there’s always that trusty jar calling from the fridge, and something to be said for the real dill.
