Now let’s hear some good news…It appears once again that President Trump is right and the so called “experts” wrong again.
David Marcus recently wrote the following:
Looks Like Trump Was Right About the Coronavirus Fatality Rate
Two new studies suggest that President Trump was right in early March when he guessed the fatality rate for coronavirus is under 1 percent.
In early March, President Donald Trump was lambasted for saying on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show that he had a hunch the coronavirus fatality rate, which the World Health Organization pegged then at 3 to 4 percent, was in fact much lower, under 1 percent. Many commentators, myself included, pointed out that the beginning of a pandemic medical crisis was not the time to be floating hunches. But, as we always knew was possible, it looks now like the president might well have been right.
New data from random antibody tests conducted in New York State suggest that as many as 2.7 million people statewide have had the coronavirus. That along with the just over 15,000 deaths that have occurred leads to a fatality rate for the virus of .5 percent according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Here is what Trump said on March 4:
“Well, I think the 3.4 percent is really a false number. Now, and this is just my hunch, and — but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this. Because a lot people will have this and it’s very mild. They’ll get better very rapidly. They don’t even see a doctor. They don’t even call a doctor.”
He went on to say:
“I think that that number (the WHO number) is very high. I think the number, personally, I would say the number is way under 1 percent.”
Democrats and media pundits blasted Trump for spreading “misinformation.”
While this data is preliminary, it is backed up by another study in Los Angeles that found 40 times more people had carried the virus then were previously known. This dropped the fatality rate in LA from 4.5 percent to .1-.3 percent. It is difficult to stress how important these findings
It is difficult to stress how important these findings are. The 5-week lockdown that has destroyed the American economy was put in place by contemplating what looks to be rather absurd numbers by the WHO.
While the United States has nearly lost a terrible 50,000 lives to the virus, this radical shift in our understanding of just how deadly it really is should make us question not only the logic of the lockdown in the first place, but more importantly how much longer we are going to stay on this destructive course.
The fact of the matter is that back in early March, what Trump was saying made sense. We had conducted very few tests of asymptomatic people and consequently we were flying blind as to just what percentage of covid-19 cases were becoming critical or leading to death. If Trump’s informed “hunch” continues to be confirmed, it will require vast changes in how we are battling the virus.
For one thing, the idea of contact tracing, which Cuomo said yesterday would be led up by Mike Bloomberg in New York, comes under serious doubt with these new findings. For example, in New York City the sample suggests that about 20 percent or some 1.6 million people have already had the virus. At that rate of spread, tracing becomes a very dubious proposition.
It would be nice if Trump’s perspicacity on this issue led to the media giving him a little more respect on the Chinese Virus response, but that’s unlikely. Either way, the results are fantastic news. At a .5 percent fatality rate or lower, the coronavirus is not the killer we feared it was, and that should make everyone happy.

And last of all, for those of you wondering what to do during this time of quarantine, Janet Periat has some ideas….
GAMES FOR QUARANTINE
Covid-19 has upended our world. Friends are sick, some are dying, the majority of us are quarantined at home with family. For those at home, this may be the first prolonged period of time you’ve spent indoors in close quarters with family members. For those of you facing this new challenge, I have provided some fun games to help ease the tension.
NUMBER ONE: What Is My Spouse Doing Wrong Now? I had no idea how much stuff I was screwing up until Frank began working from home. It’s amazing, really, how I was able to get along without his constant, helpful tips, and occasional exclamation of surprise that I was actually doing something correctly. For those not born with Frank’s inherent stellar supervisory talents, here’s the best way to play this game: Simply follow your spouse around the house as they perform their normal routine while asking yourself these basic questions: Is this the optimal way to conduct this chore? Is there a better way this person could be performing this function? Could a tool aid them? If they are using a tool, are they using the right one? Are they missing a spot? Then eagerly volunteer your helpful advice. Your spouse will achieve heights of joy they have never experienced before. They will not only be extremely grateful to be shown this now very accurate mirror of their flaws and capabilities, they will be thrilled to be tuned like the engine of a high-performing sports car. Think how much more they could achieve! Think how much better they will perform their tasks! Think how much closer all this micromanaging will bring you as a couple! Your constant supervision and pointers will earn you limitless gratitude.
NUMBER TWO: A Special, COVID-19 Home Edition of Chopped. In this episode, the basket ingredients include: canned meat spread, raisins, candy dots, and pickled ghost peppers. Your three weeks begins now! (FYI: Chopped is a cooking game show on Food Network where contestants are given four disparate ingredients and have limited time to turn them into something tasty. The results are judged by a team of professional chefs. The results are frequently gross and inedible.)
NUMBER THREE: Was That A Cough? Pay close attention to your housemates. If one makes so much as a tiny noise that could be construed as a cough, put them in isolation. Hand them a bucket, a roll of TP, a gallon of water, a box of Pop-Tarts, and duct tape their door shut. You may think that this will incite them and make them angry, but in this era of million-dollar toilet paper, bestowing the precious wipe upon them will not only make them feel safe and loved, but grateful to have such generous and caring friends.
NUMBER FOUR: What’s Stored in Our Closets? What an amazing, magnificent world awaits you! You know how you can never find anything in your home? Now’s the time to find out! Just think: You yourself could know where the extra body lotion lives. Whenever you’re out of toilet paper, you’ll just be able to walk directly to the closet and retrieve it yourself. Think how empowered you will feel! Any time you’re cooking, you won’t have to run screaming to your spouse, totally freaked out because you can’t find the olive oil. No more item outage emergencies! You’ll always be able to simply stroll to the location of the item you desire and retrieve it. What heights of achievement you will attain with this new knowledge! What a sense of accomplishment you will feel!
NUMBER FIVE: How Is Our Government Failing Us Today? From lack of early information, to hospital bed shortages, to lack of health care insurance, the U.S. Government failures regarding COVID-19 and our healthcare system are limitless. So, this is the game to play if you’re done watching stupid crap on Netflix. Because it’s just too easy to find fault with America’s leaders regarding healthcare.
I hope my fun games will help tide you over until we can all get back to abnormal: sitting bumper-to-bumper traffic on freeways, deciding whether to buy our normal medications or food for the month, or freely buying from unlimited supplies of toilet paper at Costco. Until then, wash your hands, keep your distance from others, and catch up on all your household chores. Be well, my friends!
