In the May 16^th edition of the Allen Advocate, there were two errors in a story written by Randy Mitchell concerning the parent of a student who was allegedly injured during an altercation who spoke out at a recent Allen School Board meeting.

It was written that, “Prior to the parent speaking, the board, at the behest of the parent, Justin Clifford, watched a video which was recorded via cell phone in the lunchroom, apparently by an onlooker.”

Although the altercation was indeed recorded on at least one cell phone, the video footage board members watched at the meeting was footage recorded by the school system’s cameras.

Also, it was written that, “Clifford also said he felt like two girls who fi lmed the incident, then allegedly shared it to social media, should have received some punishment.”

Clifford only mentioned that the video footage taken by the two girls was shared, not shared to social media. Clifford later told Mitchell that the cell phone video of the altercation was shared with a relative of one of the girls who filmed the incident.
