Back in August the Allen FFA along with approximately 10 other FFA chapters volunteered to take part in a pilot meats program to provide certifi cation for students and a possible career pathways after high school or through collegiate meats programs.

Through this grant, made possible through the CARES Act and Oklahoma Careertech, we have been awarded approximately $50,000 in tools and equipment to begin the Allen FFA Meats Science program.

Today we had installed a 8x12 cooler/freezer and will continue to receive other equipment (stainless steel cutting tables, knives, PPE, grinders, sausage stuffer, smoker and numerous of other equipment) throughout the month.

We are excited to be able to add this program into our school system and FFA Chapter. Thank you to our School Board, Administration, Oklahoma Careertech’s for approval to allow us to work outside of the box in order to provide students different avenues for career success.
