Area children need to start making their lists to be ready when Santa visits in downtown Allen on Saturday, December 16th. Since there won’t be snow for the reindeer to pull the sleigh, the Jolly Ole Man will arrive by fire truck at 2:00 p.m. and visit with children on west Main Street. Beginning at 2:30 the Allen First Baptist Church will be giving away free hot cocoa, coffee and cookies during a drive-thru event at the church’s parking lot. They invite everyone to stop by and grab a refreshment.

Following his visit with the children the Allen Chamber of Commerce’s “Shop at Home” drawing will be held in front of the Allen Food Center. Tickets for the five $100 bills will start to be given out after Thanksgiving and five lucky people will go home a little richer on the 16th.
