It was a cold and rainy Thursday night in Allen when the wind blew Sorority members into the home of Cindy Davis. Ornaments were hung on a tiny tree with care in hopes that dinner would soon be prepared...

Cindy Davis graciously hosted the Allen Sorority for a Christmas dinner of ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, broccoli casserole, rolls, a relish tray, cookies, candies and cherry pie. Those enjoying the meal were Jill Kaminski, Sue Boyd, Tammy Randles, Terry Riddle, Cindi Sanders, Kathy Guyton, Janice Deaton and Danielle O’Daniel. After stuffing ourselves with an excellent meal we gathered in the living room to conduct a short business meeting so we could get to our fun games and gifts.

We changed up our yearly Christmas gift exchange once again to keep things interesting. We played the “ blind” (gifts stayed wrapped until the end of the game) Christmas Dice Gift Exchange. Each member brought a gift and began with the gift they brought. One by one we rolled a large foam dice to learn if we kept what we had, passed the gifts left or right, or if we could steal someone else’s gift ... We each rolled the dice three times and luckily no one took their own gift home.

We also exchange an ornament each year and this year wasn’t any different. Each member drew a name from the pot and whoever you choose received the ornament you brought to exchange.

The evening ended after we packed candy sacks for the children who came to see Santa during the annual town Shop-at-Home drawing and Santa’s visit. It was a wonderful evening of food, fun and family that will be remembered. Can’t wait to see what shenanigans we can find in 2019.
