On Wednesday, August 28^th , at approximately 9:30 pm, the Allen Police Department was contacted by an employee of the Allen Quick Pic and informed that the store had been robbed. Responding, Offi cer Darrell Armstrong observed the store manager and owner were there as well as the employee.

Officer Armstrong was advised that around 8:30, while outside changing/emptying trash cans, an individual approached him. Asking for a cigarette, the indivdiual continued to talk and distract the employee until a vehicle pulled up to the gas pumps and called him to “come-on.” There were three occupants in the vehicle when it pulled into the parking lot. The vehicle left, traveling westbound towards Ada.

As the employee walked back inside the store he noticed a sign that sets on the counter had been knocked over onto the floor and he walked over and picked it up. A short time later he walked around the counter and noticed the money in the baskets was missing. This was when the call was made to the local police.

The store owner reported the amount taken as $1,739.96.

The individuals involved have been identifi ed; the incident is ongoing and still being investigated.
