What started out as an evenly matched game in the first quarter, turned into a tough 5718 Allen Mustang loss in Liberty last week.

Allen held the momentum until in the first period where Allen’s 18-14 lead quickly evaporated. The loss left Allen sitting in 5th place in District A-6 with a 4-3 overall record and a 2-2 district record. “It was a tough night, lots of mistakes, but it’s nothing we can’t overcome. Our goals are still in front of us, win out and we might be sitting in the third place in the district. A mixture of other scenarios and we could finish in fourth. But all we need to do is win and the rest will take care of itself,” said Coach McCreary. Right now, Stroud is leading the way in the district followed by Liberty, Mounds and Hartshorne. The Mustangs still have games left with Mounds and Hartshorne.

This week the Homecoming opponent is Savanna (1-3). They will come town looking to be the spoiler. Last week they handed Wewoka a 36-0 loss. The week prior Liberty handed them their own beatdown of 62-14. The Bulldogs average 14.9 points a game vs Allen’s 22.9.

The Mustangs need a big crowd of fans these next few games. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Homecoming coronations is 6.
