Allen FCA hosts Special Speaker Tuesday
The public is invited to join the Allen FCA students this coming Tuesday, February 25 th , to hear Newcastle, Oklahoma teen Caleb Freeman as he gives his testimony and tells of his experience and recovery from a catastrophic auto accident. The program will be held free of charge in the new school gymnasium on Broadway, starting at 6:30 p.m. A love offering to help defray travel expenses will be taken.
Following a crash involving a semitruck on Interstate 35 when he was a 16-year-old new driver, Caleb was not expected to live. He was in a coma for months and then, after awaking, was told he would never walk or talk again. Now, lovingly called the Newcastle Miracle, he has proved the doctors wrong and is giving all the credit to God.
Not only has he relearned to walk he recently finished a cross-country run for his Newcastle team. After completing their race, his Newcastle Racer teammates doubled back to cheer him on to the finish line with chants of “Go Caleb, Go Caleb.” Then this past week he returned to the basketball court after a two year absence to play briefly during his school’s Senior Night.
Caleb now does speaking engagements and hopes to eventually have a career as a motivational speaker.
