Wow! Have you seen the video taken and posted by Aaron Iker on Facebook? It’s on the Allen Message Board page and Aaron took it with his drone during the Allen Independence Day Celebration.

He did an amazing job!

A great big thank you goes to Miss Nirvana Armstrong. Nirvana is doing her part to keep Allen looking good by picking up trash on Main Street and all around own.

She and her greatgrandmother Susie Snider are going a great job!

The Advocate says “sorry” to James Summers. The Allen Nutrition Site Menu has been missing from the paper the past couple of weeks but we’ll try to do better.

The next couple of weeks temperatures are going to extremely dangerous. We would like to remind everyone they are welcome to spend time at the Allen library where they can sit and relax in the air conditioning Monday thru Friday. If we need to extend some times we will work on accommodating whomever we can help.

There are plenty of chairs and tables, computers, internet and books to keep you entertained.

As always check on your neighbors and try to stay out of the heat as much as possible.

If you or someone you know is need of a fan, please let us know here at The Advocate office (857-2687). Or if anyone has a fan to share, I am sure they would be put to good use.

Allen Schools will start the 2022-23 year on August 18 ^th .

Parents need to be aware that the US Department of Agriculture will no longer be providing free meals for all students. Families need to fill out a free md reduced application even if they do not think they quality.

Forms will be available in the school offices or from Candice Wilson in the cafeteria starting in August. Mrs. Wilson will also be available to assist with filling out the applications or answer any questions.

This Sunday will be the last time Jeff and Julie Ray will be leading the music and worship at the Allen First Baptist Church. After 20+ years of volunteering their time and talent, they have taken a position at First Baptist, Ada.

They will be missed!
