95th Annual Allen Alumni a Week Away
Plans for the 2021 Allen Alumni Weekend are in the works by the committee. As always, the event is scheduled for Fathers’ Day weekend, June 18 th and 19 th .
Friday starts off with the Alumni Golf Scramble at the Seminole Golf Course. The cost is $50 per person (cash only) for the 4-man teams with a 9:00 am start time. Winner will get a cash prize, plus there will be prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin. An extra $5 will enter duffers into the Mulligan Unlimited. Please call by June 14 th to play. That evening, June 18th, will be the Evening on Main, starting at 7:00 p.m. with music by Connor Wilson with special appearances by Doug Stinson and Jimmy Nix. A variety of games and food booths will be available for your entertainment and dining pleasure. And a whole lot of visiting will be happening so remember your lawn chair. To rent booth space contact Lindsay Linker at (580) 320-5466. Cost is $25 per booth and set-up is at 6:00 p.m. A 50/50 raffle will be held (tickets sold from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, drawing at 9:00) and a Live Pie Auction by the Allen Baseball Boosters will be held on the west end of Main Street, starting at 8:30 p.m.
Several individual classes are planning reunions including the Class of 1960, who will be celebrating their 61 st reunion at the former Kimbrough Insurance office building (more recently Shredders and the Cajun Corner) at 6:00 pm.
Saturday morning kicks off with the traditional Nancy McDougal Memorial Pancake Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. in the Allen School cafeteria. Donations welcome.
Then the games will begin. Alumni are invited to participate in the Co-Ed 3-Point Shootout ($5 fee) at 12:00 noon. The Alumni Girls 6-on- 6 basketball game will begin at 12:45 ($20 entry fee) followed by the Boys 5-on-5 game (also $20 entry). All basketball games will be held in the gym across from the high school entrance (the “oldnew gym”). A concession stand will be available.

The Bud Yount Home Run Derby will start at 3:30 p.m. ($5 fee) followed by the Alumni Baseball Game at 4:00 p.m. ($25 fee). All baseball activities will be held at the high school field and a concession ran by the Alumni committee will be available, those funds will help sponsor Alumni scholarhips.
