The Allen Football team will be hosting a scrimmaging Atoka here on Friday. Fans can come get a sneak peak 2022 version of the Mustangs and help them out by bringing a towel to get in the game. A box will be set up at the entrance to leave the towels in. Scrimmage starts at 6 p.m.

The Lady Mustangs had a pretty successful week, picking up 3 runrule wins and a loss to Stuart.

Glendene Griffin has enjoyed a houseful of company. Spending a week out & about were Rita Crawford and her three daughters, Niki Crawford, Marnie Moya and Lindsey Thorne, all of Tempe, Arizona.

After a rainout at Holdenville on Monday the 2022 Allen Fastpitch team opened their season with a 12-0 romp over Wewoka on Tuesday. The Lady Mustangs had a busy pre-season of 5 games of those 5 games they won 3 and were 2 losses were one run decisions.

ATWOOD, May 5 — The Atwood High School girls’ softball team became the 1951 Oklahoma state champions by downing a determined Cowden team by a l8-5 score in a 10-inning game before one of the largest crowds ever to assemble for a sports event here.

Pictured above are the 1951 Atwood State Champion Softball Team. This team was incredible and won two state champtionship back to back. Back: Ruby McDaniel, Betty Blackburn, Loretta Harringtron, Wanda Merriman, Barbara Black, Wanda Long, Imogene Leach, Clara Kelly, Pat Parsons, and Coach Henry Wood.
