Not very many nuggets of good news that I could find this week. For instance, Notre Dame University just covered up all Murals of Christopher Columbus because Native American’s say that they discovered America--not Christopher. And utter nonsense continues to rule in New York City. It’s subways already dirty and in bad mechanical shape are being taken over by homeless people who live in the cars and only allow paying customers portions of the smelly cars and make them stand. The mayor has backed down on his proposed fare increases and shifted any new taxes over to the highway taxes. In other words, he’s not going to make the riders pay for improvements And he sure isn’t cleaning out the free- loading squatters that now infest the cars.

I could go on nothing, a lot of silly things taking place across our plains but have mentioned these to point out the state of our Union. Is Donald Trump just plain washed up? While his enemies are dancing a jig over his political failures, we know he has hit a new low mark. Of course Nancy and Chuck are already gleefully celebrating his pain. So, does this mean that the people wearing the red baseball caps trying to make America great again are out of luck too? The 2020 elections are fast approaching and many say Trump is indeed washed up and may as well not even try to run.

But I know he will. He will continue to tweet and use bad grammar and have shouting matches with reporters. But what else can he do? Trump needs to think through and fix our immigration problems and continue with his efforts--come what may--to improve border security. He needs to understand that those who hate his guts will continue to hate him and he needs to learn to speak and deport himself with courtesy and proper deportment (as they used to tell us in school) around all Americans, whether they like him or not. Whether or not they agree with them. Even Nancy and Chuck. That is if he would like a 2^nd term.

Of course we know he isn’t going to do all of that but he can do some. He can get out of Washington. Stop holing up in the White House. Go out in the “real” America again. Makes speeches and pep rallies and clearly explain your visions for better trade deals. Explain plainly what these trade deals and tariffs have to offer the average wage earner and America’s farmers. Explain why border security affects the integrity of American culture and the pocket book of the low income workers. Do it in front of a crowd of your loyal supporters. Leave your phone in the car and explain all this the plain language you are good at using. Use that language to pull Americans together again, not to create dislike. Get a new speech writer or two.

Promise more humanitarian assistance to the immigration “victims” who are being exploited by the drug runners, coyotes, smugglers and, yes, the liberal politicians in America who want them here because they can “vote” them. The immigration on our southern border can be made to work better and to our benefit. We need the immigrants that come here to work and border security includes fi nding systems that separate them from the criminals and terrorists that slip in with them.

He and we need to do this now. Wave after wave of caravans of thousands of immigrants are coming right now to storm our borders and as into the future as one can see. Can we please fix this now and stop our fighting? America is experiencing a boom. Let’s let it continue. And be sure and go to church Sunday.
