Service Thursday for Norma Hendrix

Norma Jean Hendrix passed away in Holdenville on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the age of 83 years

Norma was the daughter of Aubrey and Velma (Young) Stanfill, born on December 16, 1934, in Calvin, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Calvin and Holdenville. She was married to Vernis Hendrix in Non, Oklahoma on February 16, 1951, two months past her 16th birthday. They were blessed with three children, Shirley, Verna, and David, and sixty-three years together before Vein is passed away on November 1, 2014. Holdenville was their lifelong home.

Norma was energetic and vivacious, and liked to stay busy. She worked various places in Holdenville, including Foster Dr1Ig and LaValley Dry Goods, and for more than ten years at Covey Corporation, from 1966 until the plant was destroyed by fire in the late 1970s. Fishing was one of her favorite things, and she loved everything to do with yard work and flowers. She was a sweet and sassy lady, and she will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Velma Stanfill; and her husband of 63 years, Vei nis Hendrix.

She is survived by three children, Shirley Smith (Steve) of Jenks, Verna Douglas of Holdenville, and David Hendrix (Hope) of McAlester; eight grandchildren, Jo Smith (Chandee) of Sand Springs, Sherry Terrell of Crossville, Alabama, Holly Parsons of Broken Arrow, Charity Riley (Don) of Holdenville, Robyn Bates (Kevin) of Holdenville, Mandy Stonehocker (Justin) of Coweta,BoHendrix(Jalnni) of Sapulpa, and Candace Hendrix (Victor Martins) of McAlester; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother-in n-law Charles (Janet) Hendrix of Coalgate; other family members and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23rd The family will depart in procession from the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. and Norma will be laid

to rest at Non Cemetery. Rev. John Roberts will officiate. Pallbearers are Bo Hendrix, Jon Madden, JustinStonehocker,Kevin Bates, Don Riley, and Steve Smith.
