FCCLA “It Can Wait” Campaign

Posted in:

Allen Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members developed a safe driving campaign that is geared to all students and focuses on distracted driving, driving under the influence, and seatbelt safety. They have worked hard planning everything out for 2025 and are eager to teach others about their campaign.

They had the opportunity to talk to all Family and Consumer Sciences classes, 7th grade-12th grade, about distracted driving - specifically texting while driving last week. On average, 3,132 people die in fatal crashes involving distracted drivers each year. Nearly 6% of distracted drivers involved in fatal crashes are teenagers.

FCCLA members encouraged all students to take a stand and speak up about distracted driving. Students were also encouraged to pledge to not text and drive because “IT CAN WAIT!”
