Allen’s opening round of the Pontotoc County Tournament was Tuesday in Stonewall.

The Lady Mustangs blasted Tupelo 77 - 18. This time Kaylee Davis hit 24 points going 6/14 from three point land, Addison Prentice 16 (3-3 from the charity stripe), Cherish Woodward 13 (5 steals), Stoney Culley 13, Ava Laden 6(7 rebounds) , Kayla Nickell 5. Kryslyn Stephens 3 assists.

The boys foe in the opening round was Roff. The game was decided in the first half, leading 36-11 and went on to win 57-11 allowing Roff only 5 points in the second half.

Allen had 3 players in double digits, Tatum 16, Garrett Nix in his first game back after extensive knee injury 11, Freshman Gus Matthews 11, Keithon Howard 8, Easton Ledo 5, Kamden Adams 3 and Gauge Lockhart 3.

Both teams advance to the semi-finals on Friday the girls will face Stratford at 4:30 and the men will see Vanoss at 5:50. The Championship games are slated for Saturday girls 5:30 and boys 7 p.m.

The teams finally come home for 2 games before the Christmas break. On Tuesday Stratford comes to town and on the final game of the year Roff comes to Allen on Friday.

The Allen girls are currently ranked #12 in class A and the Mustang men are #7
