Randy Joe Shires passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at home at the age of 71.

He was born on February 27, 1954, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and grew up in Allen, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school in 1972. After graduation, he moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma to work in the train service for Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor. He moved to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1989 and continued to work as a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement. He had worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 32 years.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Darrel Shires and Patsy Dean Cockburn Shires.

He leaves his wife of 52 years Becky Fletcher Shires; stepson, Scot Fletcher of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Kenny Shires of Allen, Oklahoma, and Terry Shires of Tioga, Texas; and Uncle Bob Shires of Pottsboro, Texas.
