Lillian Kay Clarke Thompson, 81, of Atlanta, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2025. She passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of grit, grace, and an unwavering love for all of God’s creatures.

Born on June 30, 1944, in Ada, Oklahoma, she was raised in Allen and graduated from Allen High School with the Class of 1962.

Kay grew up with a heart for the open air. In her younger years, she was a fixture in the rodeo arena as a talented barrel racer, demonstrating a blend of speed and skill that many admired. Her love for the Western lifestyle continued throughout her life as a trail cutter and avid wagon trail rider, finding peace and community on the trails. She was a passionate animal lover who never met a creature she didn’t want to care for. Whether on horseback or at home, her compassion for animals was a defining mark of her character.

When she wasn’t on the trail or caring for animals, she could be found cheering on her Texas Rangers or reading a western novel. Kay was also a woman of strong work ethic and was retired from Stanco in Atlanta, Texas, where she was a dedicated employee and a familiar face to many in her community.

Most importantly, Kay was a born-again believer. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the compass for her life, providing her with strength, joy, and the ultimate assurance of her eternal home in Heaven.

Kay is reunited in glory with her father, Herbert Clarke, mother, Ruby Clarke, and her beloved husband, Bruce Thompson.

She leaves behind a host of family members to cherish her memory and carry on her stories, including: Luana Taylor, of Atlanta, Chuck Clarke of California, Guy (Sue) Milner of Dallas, Texas, Fuzzy Milner of Allen, Oklahoma, and Don (Margaret) Milner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her special friends, Ben Woolridge, Bonnie Breshears, and Peggy Paine whose companionship meant the world to her. Kay’s life was a testament to living boldly, learning constantly, and loving deeply. She will be missed by all who knew her.
