The Mustangs came home and hosted Wewoka for a district contest winning 41-12.

It wasn’t as easy as it sounded as the Mustangs took a 1-point lead into the locker room at the half. They added 8 in the 3rd and put the game out of reach by scoring 20 points in the final stanza.

Tagus Howard opened the scoring for the Mustangs on a 3-yard run. The point after by Quinn Corum was good. In the second quarter Howard again found paydirt from 8 yards out. The kick was no good. Wewoka scored 2 times in the quarter the first on a 63 yard kick off return and again before the half on 8 yard run.

“We came back strong in the second half; we weren’t quite clicking in the first half but they made the adjustments and took over the game,” said Coach Matt McCreary. “We have a 4-2 record now and need to keep rolling towards the playoffs.”

Starting the second half again Howards number was called from 1 yard out. Coyt Bell ran in the 2-point conversion.

In the fourth quarter Quinton Walker had runs of 15 and 14 yards for touchdowns and Corums kicks were good. Howard finished his 4-touchdown night with a 10 yard run.

The Mustangs stayed on the ground most of the night with Corum completing 1 pass for 7 yards to Kayd Bell. Rushing stats were Howard 24/199/4 TD, Walker 11/125/ 2 TD, Kayd Bell 7/19, Corum 9/9, Lance Johnson 3/7 and Noah Bray 1/3.
