July 2024 Sales & Use Tax CITIES RECEIVE $202.7 MILLION COUNTY RETURNS TOTAL $33.5 MILLION The July 8, 2024, distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from May business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from May 16th to the 31st and estimated sales from June 1st to the 15th.

The disbursement of $202,723,13 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected a decrease of $ 479,581 from the $203,202,715, distributed to them in June last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $35,719,789.

In county returns, the counties shared in $33,539,386 sales tax disbursements and $6,891,138 in use tax disbursements.

Locally, Allen’s 2024 income from Sales Tax came to $20,573.59, an increase of $2,747.84 over the 2023 receipt of $17,8235.75.

Also posting gains were Ada, Atwood, Calvin, Francis, and Gerty. Holdenville reported a loss.

Ada brought in $1,704,105.75 compared to $1,672,365.20 last year; Atwood was up to $501.20 from $403.93; Calvin earned $10,766.51, up from $8,903.63; Francis increased to $1,8225.20 from $1,631.64; and Gerty brought in $294.27 up from $38.36. Holdenville alone took a drop, earning $254,008.13 compared to $259,100.44 in 2023.

In county returns, Hughes dropped to $104,532.72 from $120,480.66; Pontotoc County increased to $495,287.61 from $471,717.15 last year.

Use Tax returns for Allen also increased, going to $5,264.60 from $4,129.29. An increase of $1,135.31.

Francis, Gerty and Holdenville all reported gains while Ada and Calvin took a loss over last year’s revenue. Atwood does not collect Use Tax.

In Francis the Use Tax revenue increased to $1,323.00 from $621.87 last year; Gerty increased to $125.33 from $40.92; and Holdenville was up to $39,272.21 from $37,517.93. Ada took drop, receiving $191,792.04 this year compared to $197,667.12 last year; Calvin received $2,043.76, down from $2,178.66.

In county returns of Use Tax monies, Hughes County increased to $21,473.81 from $20,089.91. Pontotoc County dropped to $76,832.43, down from $79,673.13.
