Private Riley D. Tomb, 19, of Allen, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on November 22, 2024. PVT Tomb successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 71 recruits in Training Platoon 1077.

While in recruit training, PVT Tomb achieved the following: Sharpshooter marksmanship rifle qualification and platoon artist designation. Following ten days home on leave, he reported to Camp Geiger for one month at Military Combat Training, then he will attend Military Occupation Specialty school. PVT Tomb’s Permanent Duty Station will be determined following training.

PVT Tomb is the son of Shamus Tomb and Merida Tomb, and has one sister, Emma Tomb, all of Allen. His grandparents are Dennis and Mary Pat Sappenfield of Allen, Ken Tomb of Hudson Falls, New York, and Kathleen Columbo of Croghan, New York. PVT Tomb is a graduate of the class of 2024 from Allen Public Schools.
