PEC Day Saturday

Posted in:

This year marks People’s Electric Cooperative’s (PEC) 86th annual meeting, an event which draws hundreds from across PEC’s eleven-county service area and beyond. The day has also been proclaimed as “PEC Day” by Ada City Mayor Randy McFarlin. Those in attendance at this year’s annual meeting will be treated to some of the best southern gospel and country music around. Featured performers, Brian Free and Assurance, will be joined by Triple R and Southern SONlight. Live entertainment kicks off at 9 AM when Triple R takes the stage in the Big Red Barn.

Recently christened as “Triple R” for their inaugural PEC Day event on Saturday, September 28, Maddox Ross of Edmond (OK) and Sienna Rose of Allen (OK) will grace the PEC Day stage in Ada at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex alongside John L. Rich of Nashville (TN).

Rich, who for over the past 50+ years has traveled the world entertaining audiences alongside icons including the Oak Ridge Boys, Elvis and Tanya Tucker just to name a few was the Oak Ridge Boys’ (ORB) first pedal steel player and guitar player.

Hailing from central Oklahoma, 20 yr old Maddox Ross is a Singer/Songwriter and Actor. With influences along the lines of Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and George Strait, Maddox’s sound is traditional country with a twist, and he is quickly making his mark in country music.

Sienna Rose brings her own flavor and style to any stage. She specializes in classic country, western swing, folk and gospel music. She started singing before she could talk and started playing fiddle at age 9 and guitar at 12. She recently made her debut appearance on the Oklahoma Opry with accomplished fiddler and mentor Lauren Lee. Sienna has also recorded at Clarksville Creative Sound (Clarkesville, Tennessee) with producer and label co-owner Curt Ryle. She co-wrote her first song with RT Valine recently about her first time flying to Nashville. Coming up in October, Rose will attend the Josie Award ceremony held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville (TN) where she is nominated for vocalist of the year under 18, her second consecutive Josie Award nomination.

PEC Day activities, including Triple R’s live performance on Saturday, September 28th, begin at 9 AM at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex located at 1710 N. Broadway Boulevard in Ada. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (580) 332-3031.
