Nancy has retired from Congress and is home. She says her recently beat up husband is still “not right” from his beating from an intruder’s claw hammer. But now that she is back home, she has added all sorts of security devices (and guards) so that she and her mate can relax and feel safe. Even more importantly, she has had her house exorcised. Evil spirits and such should all be gone now. Naturally, since she had been sort of kicked out of her church over her extreme position on abortion, she had to go outside the church to get the job done.

A hired priest group from another area came in (like a devil mafia) and exorcised the evil spirits Nancy feared were in her house. And they report that all ghosts and goblins are now gone. One Republican Congressman wondered aloud if at this magic moment of demon-bash if Nancy herself disappeared.

But even if the “possessed” and former Speaker is now gone, troubles in Congress abound. For one thing, “we” are all out of money. Who could have seen that coming? Nancy’s former partner in misgovernances, Joe Biden, has so far not taken the chance to rectify the ship of state and it is not known how long this “out of money” state will last but this is not the first time the US government has overdrawn its account and Congress will soon have to vote to increase our debt limit. Like they always do. Maybe Biden is waiting ‘till after his “State of The Union” address coming up soon. That ought to be a real hoot.

Meanwhile, here in the Sooner State, our reelected Governor Stitt took off his “responsible governor” T-Shirt right after being sworn back in and put back on his other one. If he is “successful,” he will not only allow open transfer in our schools but will remove whatever cash the school received for educating that child and give it to whoever is now educating him. The governor played this part of his antipublic- school program down during election campaigning so this may be something of a surprise to many. This will be an especially big financial shock to our rural school districts who will be hard hit.

Moneys formerly going to public schools will be transferred to private, online, church schools and to home schoolers. Exactly how all this will work is somewhat mysterious. Not mysterious will be the transfer of millions of publicschool funds from our cash-starved schools to this governor’s pet projects. Allen schools are already shorted funds from several home-schooled Allen students and these drastic changes of spending public school money on church and other private means of education is probably still unconstitutional. Worse yet, just how and if some of our smaller school districts will survive this attack remains to be seen. Of little concern to the Governor, many won’t.

Maybe next time we, the voters, need to pay better attention to who is running for what. Along this same line, the governor has replaced the entire state board of education in total with members who have not a scintilla of teaching experience. No schoolteachers need apply. And if you’re still wondering whatever happened to that outfit called EPIC that stands accused of embezzling and misspending millions of education dollars last year. They have nothing to fear. Their boosters have all been reelected.

What can you do? Maybe attend some school board meetings to lend them your support as they battle to safeguard our school. We may have lost this skirmish, but we don’t have to lose our school. Be careful who you vote for next time! Stop and think of what your actual interests are and those of your child. Allen Schools have enjoyed pretty good local support and they are excellent. Let us continue this support.

Have a good week and be sure and go to your church Sunday. They need your support too.
