Aaron Rogers Disappears

Posted in:

I was surprised to see that one of my favorite quarterbacks has come down with Covid. I was pretty sure (to myself) last week that I wasn’t going to say anymore about this world-wide pandemic and the number of people who won’t take the shots or wear the masks. Nothing I can do about it, I said to myself. Then comes along Aaron. Well, he really let me down on this.

In one sports news story, a female journalist really took Rogers to task over this. She classified him as being “selfish” and not caring for the welfare of those around him. His fellow players, to be sure. I suppose one could say the same thing about anyone who quotes the “party line” as read on Facebook and other social media posts about why they won’t take the shots. Not only is Aaron “selfish” to quote the writer, but he also goes on a sports talk show and refutes “facts” about Covid. Facts that are put out by scientists, medical professionals and pharmacists like me. Substituting the advice (and following it) of podcast hosts. Aaron is just one more “lost soul” deluded by the misinformation of the internet.

Well, whatever Aaron is or might be, I just want this Covid to be over. Done with. I’m sick and tired of it rampaging through my beloved America. I blame the people who are now “WOKE” for a lot of this. Aaron said the J and J Covid shot could cause blood clots. Well, there is, but only in a tiny fraction of females. Not males. He said he feared it could make him sterile. Not so. And furthermore, he went on to say, “I’m taking Ivermectin.” Oh, good grief I thought as I read that. Ivermectin has not been shown to be safe for use in human beings. I hope Rogers survives his misguidance and I hope no one listens to him. But I know they do and this in itself is a threat to human life.

As I said earlier, I just want it to be over. And to speed this getting over, we need better compliance to health laws made by the experts we pay and trust to do so. I want to see the masks disappear and our church houses full again on Sunday mornings—or Saturdays if that’s the way you do it. Basketball season is here, and I want to see the gym full of fans cheering their kids on and having a good time at it. I want to see the cafés and other public venues full of happy healthy customers being served by an adequate number of people who are well and willing to work for their money. And I’m sick and tired of seeing old acquaintances and friends’ obits in the paper after they die of this horrible disease. And for those stuck in hospitals trying to get over lower lung Covid and the like, you have my sympathy and prayers, I hope you get well soon. You too Aaron.

We’re now in the shortest and darkest days of winter with the holidays soon to arrive. The Hanging of the Green will soon take place (December 5) at the First Baptist Church, and I hope it will be a joyous celebration of the season of the birth of our Savior, Jesus. Yes, let’s all get back in church. Yes, its ok to wear your mask if you wish, or don’t. Let’s just pray this will continue to wind down.

And I say again, I hope you can make it to your church this Sunday.
