November 2024 Sales & Use Tax
The November 8, 2024 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from September business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from September 16th to 30th and estimated sales from October 1st to the 15th.
It also includes the statutory sales tax holiday reimbursements to cities and counties. The disbursement of $190,962,535 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected a decrease of $8,649,727 from the $199,342,262 distributed to them in November last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $36,386,286.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $32,054,453 sales tax disbursement and a $6,786,890 use tax disbursements.
November 2024 Sales Tax receipts show an increase of $5,873.33 for Allen. This year brought in $24,805.68 compared to $18,932.35 in 2023.
Ada and Francis also posted gains while other area towns (Atwood, Calvin, Gerty and Holdenville) were down. Ada received $1,777,622.84 compared to $1,566,090.06 last year; and Francis increased by $101.04, receiving $2,114.75 up from $2,013.71. Atwood dropped to $326.87 from $609.28; Calvin brought in $10,392.70, down from $11,077.48; Gerty was down $191.93; and Holdenville dropped to $217,527.15 from $244,536.56.
County receipts were down in both Hughes and Pontotoc Counties. Hughes County received $79,378.87 in November 2024 compared to $112,391.33 in 2023; and Pontotoc County dropped to $399,749.99 from $463,491.33.
Use Tax was also up substantially for Allen in 2024, bringing in $6,392.73 compared to $3,977.76. An increase of $2,414.97.
Also reporting gains were Ada, Calvin, Gerty and Holdenville; Francis took a loss of revenue.
Gerty drop was an amazing 29ยข with them receiving $127.68 up from $127.39. Ada increased to $225,621.54 from $193,704.82; Calvin was up to $2,419.39 from $2,265.51; and Holdenville received $44,515.29 in 2024, up from $28,730.67. Francis took a drop, bringing in only $660.09 compared to $1,658.22 last year.
Both counties were up in receipts. Hughes brought in $20,154.83 compared to $15,546.97 last year; while Pontotoc increased to $77,192.52 from $72,268.34.
