Mustangs Fall to the Savages
Allen traveled to Wynnewood and matched the Savages touchdown for touchdown in the first half.
Kayd Bell hauled in a 29-yard pass from QB Bodee Garrett. The 2-point conversion failed, and Allen took the 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Second quarter Wynnewood drove down the field and dove in from 1 yard out. The 2-point conversion was good. Bell answered back on a 27-yard run and this time the 2-point conversion was successful and Allen had the 14lead. Unfortunately, that was the last lead the Mustangs would see the lead as Wynnewood scored 3 more touchdowns and a field goal. Final score was 31-14.
“Proud of the guys, they are working hard. As long as we keep pushing and working good things will start happening. Those games are just pre-district warmups, the chase for District wins start now,” said Coach Elerick.
District games start this week as Allen travels to Talihina for a 7 p.m. kick.

The Talihina Golden Tigers have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome the Allen Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Talihina’s favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they’ve taken the field this season.
Last Thursday, Talihina took their game at home with ease, bagging a 43-8 win over Non-Varsity Opponent. Fans of the Golden Tigers have seen this all before every one of the games they’ve played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points. Talihina was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.
