With the 34-6 win last Friday’s on the Mustangs trip to Savanna, they secured a spot in the playoffs. “We were happy to be in the playoff picture, but we are looking for more, wins these next two weeks will let us start the playoffs on Mustang field.” Allen has a big fete in front of them this week as they travel to Hartshorne for a district contest. Hartshorne and Allen both are sitting at 4-1 in district play, looking for that second place finish behind the Stroud Tigers. Hartshorne owns a 4-3 record overall with losses to Heavner, Hennryetta and Stroud.

The Mustangs got off to a little bit of slow start against Savanna not scoring until the 2nd quarter. Tagus Howard found the endzone from 5 yards out and Quinn Corum kicked the extra point. Savanna got loose on a 69-yard touchdown run but missed the extra point. That was all of the scoring Savanna would have in the game. Before the half Quinton Walker scored from the 3 -ard line, Corum kick was good, then Corum scored on a quarterback keeper from the 1 but missed the extra point.

In the third Howard scored 2 more times from 2 and 1 yard. Corum kicked one extra point and Riley Tomb kicked the other.
