Mrs. Jan Rutherford’s 2nd graders told us how their families prepare for Thanksgiving . . .

My Dad gets our turkey. We get our turkey at the store. My turkey weighs 6 pounds. When I get it home I wash it and throw it in a pan to get the turkey ready to cook.

I like to stuff my turkey with mint and broth. I cook it for 11 minutes at 10º. On Thanksgiving I will share my turkey with my family. — Kash Griffin My Dad gets our turkey. We get our turkey at the Allen Food Center. My turkey weighs 10 pounds. When I get it home I put it in the sink to get the turkey ready to cook.
