Just like last week the place to be was the Quinton gym, this Friday the place you will find 90% of the residents of Allen will be the Wilburton gym. The Mustangs are expecting a full house of rowdy Allen fans to encourage them in their battle with Liberty at 7:30. The Wilburton gym is located at 1201 W. Blair, Wilburton. Fan parking will be located on the east and north side of the gym. Admission at the gate will be $10. If you prefer to buy the tickets in advance you can use the GoFan website off the OSSAA.com site. Only OSSAA Playoff Passes will be valid.

Liberty, ranked #18 own a 25-5 record and last week defeated #2 Rattan in their Regional final. “They clearly outsize us; they average 6’3” and have some good shooters, they are coming off a big win for them and are a hot team right now,” said Coach Greg Mills. While they may outsize our Mustangs, Allen is on a streak in their own right. The winner of 13 of their last 15 outings they have a current record of 20-4.

“It’s a huge advantage to go into the Area tournament in the winner’s bracket. That extra day of rest and in our case recovery, sometimes means the difference in a win and a loss.” The Mustangs are looking for starter Garrett Nix to return to action after a gut-wrenching injury Saturday night.

Early in the first quarter Nix went up to contest a shot and got his legs knocked out from under him and he landed flat on his back on the floor. A hard fall is nothing new to anyone who has ever watched Nix play, but this time the injury took him out for the rest of the game. “He is pretty sore and stiff, but he has had treatment all
